My contribution to the WordPress community focuses on the Polyglots team, specifically translating and localizing key components, interfaces, and documentation for Gutenberg (the WordPress Block Editor) from English into Spanish. The goal of this project is to make advanced block-editing features and developer tools fully accessible to Spanish-speaking creators, site builders, and developers, enabling them to build seamlessly in their native language.
The project involves reviewing and translating interface strings, block controls, and technical documentation while maintaining strict context accuracy, technical terminology, and consistency across core releases. It requires adhering to official WordPress translation standards and glossary guidelines to ensure that Spanish-speaking users experience an intuitive, seamless, and standardized block editing environment.
The expected scope includes actively contributing string translations for Gutenberg packages and release candidates, validating translations for clarity and technical correctness, and collaborating with the Polyglots community workflows. Through this initiative, I aim to help break down language barriers within open-source software, improve accessibility for global WordPress users, and represent Universidad Fidélitas in open-source collaboration.
